WHAT EVERY MAN SHOULD LEARN ABOUT LIFE

A lot of times, people do not know the twists and turns that could turn up in life and how to handle them. A wrong response from you can put you at a long term disadvantage but handling them well can make your life flow smoothly. Please read this true life story below and learn from it.
....

In 2010 I was a senior manager in a nice firm, my future was bright in the company and I was highly recommended for head of my department. There was a rising star as well, his name is Jacob. I tutored him and tried to manage his excesses because he was exceptionally brilliant. But, he was lazy and carefree. Hardly would he take corrections and rarely would he apologise.

My other colleagues wondered what I saw in him, but they weren’t working directly with him. I knew his type: he hated structure and would never last under a corporate environment. Still, he was a brilliant strategist. I handled him well and our results together with others on my team was highly commendable.

There came a time I was having marital issues and for this reason, I had little patience with Jacob and his shenanigans. I was short-tempered with him but he had gotten used to me managing his excesses, he didn’t take my anger seriously. In two weeks, I had given him 3 queries. This meant dismissal and when I was asked by HR if I truly wanted to let him go, I could not care less. I had my own problems and was not in the mood to babysit anyone.

Three years later, I lost my job because the company was downsizing and top management was affected. I foolishly assumed I would get a job anywhere so initially, I wasn’t worried. But 12 months in, I was still searching and my savings was dwindling fast. I decided, since I wasn’t getting any job, I’d drive my SUV as a cab to those commuting from the airport. This was better than waiting around for nothing…

The cab job surprisingly was not doing badly as I was picking up and dropping off esteemed clients. It wasn’t a lot of money but it was steady.

In July 2016, an esteemed client asked me to pick up his friend from the airport because his driver had flaked on him. This person I was to pick up would turn out to be Jacob. When he called to confirm his location, I instantly recognised his voice. My heart plunged but I wasn’t going to reject the job and disappoint a long-term client. Jacob exited the airport with only a hand luggage so there was no need for me to alight from the car. As he got in the car, I looked back from the driver’s seat to greet him but he was distracted on the phone and never looked up to notice me. He only answered my greeting and asked me to get going

As I drove him all the way to a hotel on the Island, I had tears in my eyes. He looked like he was doing well, his conversations on the phone also showed that he was in control. Jacob had done well for himself and I was now driving him. Life is tricky and has a way of making you the butt of its joke. I cannot lie that I was ashamed but I would never forgive myself if I let him go without letting him know I was proud of him.

We got to the hotel and I quickly got down from the car to open his door. This was when he noticed me. He was speechless for a while then he said in Yoruba “Oga you have been the one driving me since?” He was shocked at first but then he hugged me tight. The tears finally poured, I can’t really say what I felt but I know I didn’t expect his reaction.

“I heard you were let go, I sent you a message on my other number to find out how you were but you never responded”He said while still holding on to my shoulders

I remember receiving a message from him but he was one out of many that called or texted to pity me. I didn’t want anyone’s pity so I never responded.

Jacob made me park my car and took me in to his room to talk. He immediately told me about his new gig. After he was laid off, he got a consultation deal with a multinational which opened doors for him in other multinationals. Now, he has 15 people working for him but he was in desperate need of someone who does the same as him and he didn’t have to worry about their competence. He just wanted to focus more on bringing business to the company.

My life changed that day. I resumed work with Jacob in one week and I have made sure since then to treat his company as if it were mine.

I don’t know why he treated me so nicely after what I did to him but as men, we have never talked about it. I am sure though, that he can feel my gratitude in the way I work and my zeal in doing all I can to make sure he doesn’t have to worry about the back-end.

I hope someone learns from this. lf the world turns upside down, you may end up cleaning for your cleaner. Please always remember this when you act without consideration of the other person’s future.

WISDOM FOR THE TOP

The moment of victory is often the moment of greatest peril. In the heat of victory, arrogance and overconfidence can push you past the goal you had aimed for, and by going too far, you make more enemies than you defeat.

Do not allow success to go to your head. There is no substitute for strategy and careful planning.  Set a goal, and when you reach it, stop.
Have an Uncommon day Ahead.....

PATHWAY TO SANITY

Wisdom begins with correction. Errors must be exposed. Mistakes must be admitted. Think back over your life. Think of the person who taught you the most. He was probably the one who corrected you the most. Hell is full of people who rejected correction. Heaven is full of people who accepted it.

HOW TO BREAKFORTH

HOW TO BREAKFORTH
To break forth from where you are to new levels, requires input of new information. There is no better way than to prepare in advance for what you expect to perform in or for the level you want to operate at.

Even scriptures says it that "Study to show yourself approved, a workman...".
That means without adequate study, a workman can be put to shame. You must put effort in becoming better than yesterday. As E.W. Kenyon puts it " struggle to improve". Another person said the best way to predict the future is to create it.
Many times, this may require going for materials or trainings at the expense of perhaps certain pressing personal needs. You need to prioritize. In fact, especially at the early stages, you may need to even borrow to buy or pay for that information. However, if you know what you are doing you will Arrive. For surely... "there is an END,and your expectation shall not be cut off"

May you soon become the Next Oga At The Top! And if you are already an Oga at The Top, then my prayer for you is that, may you keep Remaining an Oga At The Top and even become THE Oga Kpatakpata At TheTop!
Have a blessed weekend!

WINNING OVER OBSTACLES

From time to time, you will encounter obstacles. Your attitude towards obstacles and what you do, is what determines if you become better, bitter or bigger after the encounter.
When you encounter an obstacle, there are some vital things you must do in order to win. These are what President David, in Scriptures, used in overcoming Goliath. Though at the time he used this principle, he had not ascended the throne, however, it was what he kept on using after he became President. You will recall that he was eventually called a "man of war". Therefore, if there is one man we can learn from about overcoming obstacles in life, then that one man has to be David.
Now what are these vital things we must do to overcome obstacles. The first thing is to
1. PICTURE YOUR PAST VICTORIES:
Yes, you need to use your imagination to picture your past victories. David said, "The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the LION and from the paw of the BEAR..."
This is a fundamental secret that most believers do not use. They imagine the worst case scenarios and dwell there. The enemy floods their minds with the worst that could happen. My friend take charge of your mind. As a believer, you have been given the MIND OF CHRIST. An anointed mind, a mind that only sees victory. A mind that anticipates success in the face of overwhelming odds. That's the reason for the mind of Christ. You must consciously bring back to your memory, the past victories you have had. This should not just be a passing thought but rather an active, conscious activity, so vivid, so strong that it moves you to do the next step.

2. VERBALIZE YOUR PAST VICTORIES:
Yes o! When you create strong, vivid pictures of past victories that God has given you, it causes you to boldly declare what He has done for you thereby creating a foundation for faith in overcoming your present obstacles. This may be done  quietly to yourself or to the hearing of others. However, you need to note that verbalization must come from a mouth whose heart is convinced. When a convinced heart speaks, it always results in confirmable results! You do not verbalize in order to convince your heart, no, you verbalize because your heart is convinced. That's the secret. It makes a whole world of difference.
You must first believe with your heart first, then you confess or declare with your mouth unto salvation.

3. TRUST GOD TO SHOW YOU A STRATEGY.
There is a strategy to use in overcoming that obstacle (Goliath)  standing in front of you. The surest way to get God's direction on what to do is to take time to settle steps number one and two written above, and God will show you the strategy to implement in overcoming your present challenges. Many times, believers want to start from this third step. No. It doesnt work that way. That is like putting the cart before the horse! And let me say this at this point. Many times, God will show you a strategy that requires the use of your resources. What you need is in you and around you! What you have that is around you.  Don't undermine your simple sling and stone. That coat of armour without God is nothing but unnecessary weight! Trust God to show you, and He will. He will NEVER leave you nor forsake you.

4. TAKE ACTION!
Yes take action! Until you move, God will not move. He has shown you what to do, so, go ahead. Take oqlaction! Don't be like Moses, who was standing before the Red Sea and was waiting for God. God told him "don't wait for me, stretch your rod and divide the sea"! God already had told him that the rod was for him to do signs. However, Moses stood by the sea and was wasting time talking! God got tired of waiting for him to take action and told him to use the rod. Use your God-given strategy!
I wonder how many folks are standing by their Red sea and waiting for God to do something, meanwhile having their rod (God-given strategy) right in their hands!
I see you taking action, and taking territories through Jesus name!

THOUGHTS ON LEADERSHIP 3

The No.1 responsibility of true leaders is to first create an ENABLING ENVIRONMENT for his subjects;that is why God created the garden of Eden before creating Adam.
